Why choose Economics and Business A/AS

The Economics and Business GCE is innovative and enlightening and the emphasis is on giving students the opportunity to apply their knowledge to specific economic and business situations and issues.

The fresh approach of the course is built around an enterprise theme enabling students to research and develop their own business ideas and apply them to their learning. The qualification also introduces students to the ever more important area of international business equipping them for work and business management in an international context.

The course is very dynamic and students will constantly refer to real life situations and events in the business and economic world going on around them with a focus on the wider economic environment. Research, analysis and evaluation skills will be essential as well as an enquiring mind.

Alan Sugar said this of one of his apprentices, I don’t want to feel this about you after six weeks – so always remember ; commitment and hard work are the key to success!

"Could be you’re here because you’re good with words and know the right thing to say at the right time. I know the words to Candle in the Wind. It doesn't make me Elton John."
