Dear Parents, Carers and Friends

We looked after 18 children in school toady.  Today was a very special day as the DfE has designated the day “Thank a Teacher Day”

Thei DfE daily briefing says:

“Today we are saying thank you to teachers, senior leaders, support staff and all those working in education settings who are making a difference to their schools and communities during the coronavirus outbreak. To mark the day, you can send a free thank you card to a colleague.

The Secretary of State for Education, Gavin Williamson, said: “Thank a Teacher Day gives us all a great opportunity to thank everyone working in education, but I especially wanted to express my respect and admiration for all staff in nurseries, schools and colleges for going above and beyond to help this country tackle coronavirus and continue to support young people.”

Free thank you cards can be found here:

The other way the Government is thanking teachers is by setting an arbitrary deadline for schools to take more pupils, with limited forethought, confusing guidance and a refusal to publish any scientific advice that says this may, or may not be, a good idea.

We are working on plans to get some face-to-face time with Year 10 and 12 students and will update you when we can.

Stay safe and, where you can, stay at home.
