Dear Parents, Carers and Friends

We held our Open Evening last night (Wednesday) for pupils in Years 5 and 6.  It was a really positive evening with a great turn-out of prospective students and their parents, carers and families.  There were two opportunities to hear a talk from me in the hall and, more importantly, time to go around the school, see the classrooms, meet the teachers and talk to them and to current students at Lady Lumley’s.  Loads of students came along to help; as tour guides (Year 7 students), to take part in activities in subject areas or to serve tea and coffee.

It was a fantastic atmosphere in the school and we received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the visiting families.  The school is a great place to be if you’re a student here (and also if you’re a member of staff!) and this came over clearly last night.

A humongous thank you to all the students and staff who helped out last night and an equally sized thank you to the pupils in Years 5 and 6 and their families who were so inquisitive and enthusiastic during their visit.  We look forward to seeing many of them over the next year as part of our transition process and welcoming them to Lady Lumley’s School in September.
