Dear Parents, Carers and Friends

We had a fantastic Open Evening last night for pupils in Years 5 and 6 who are considering coming to Lady Lumley’s for their secondary education.  Around 400 people came to look around the school, meet the teachers and current students and get an experience of what life will be like in Year 7 and beyond.  In the hall there was a talk from me alongside contributions from the Head Girl (Hannah Woodward) and Head Boy (Josh Spittal) who give a student’s eye view of the school.  Prospective students and their families had the evening to visit all the subject areas of the school, meet the teachers and talk to present students.  I was really pleased by the large number of students who volunteered to stay at school until 9 p.m. to help with the evening and particularly pleased by the huge number of the current Year 7 who acted as tour guides after only being in the school 4 weeks. The atmosphere in the school was buzzing last night and I am sure everyone had an interesting and exciting time.  Thank you to everyone who came to look around and to everyone who helped to make the evening so successful.
