Dear Parents, Carers and Friends

Some lovely news of one of our ex-students, Brownwen Owen.

Thornton le Dale based Bronwen Owen who is a former Lady Lumley's School student and is now an undergraduate at Leeds University, competed for  Great Britain Juniors at the Junior European Triathlon Cup, which was held at  the Dutch village of Holten. This was a comeback race for Bronwen after she recovered from a cycle crash in her last competition. After the opening swim section she was joined by Holland's Quinty Schoens and  they both stormed through the field in the fastest times for this leg.  Bronwen then ran the fastest 5 kilometre run leg and finished second overall of the 40 competitors from 8 countries, and was  just 2 seconds behind the winner.  Great Britain won the team title with the first three finishers.
