General Election Question Time in the Sixth Form  All the candidates for the Thirsk & Malton Constituency were our guests on Monday 27th April for a General Election Hustings in the main School Hall.  Yr12 and Yr13 students had a fantastic opportunity to pose questions directly to our prospective MPs.  The debate was lively; with a wide range of questions including Tuition Fees, Housing, the NHS and Human Rights.  Ed Davey, a Yr13 Government & Politics student, was our version of David Dimbleby, and was highly professional in ensuring that the event ran smoothly: keeping time-checks on the candidates and ringing a small bell when their time was up!  The feedback from students afterwards was very positive, with one Yr12 saying: 'it was really interesting to hear what they all had to say: it explained many issues to me that I did not know much about before and has engaged me in politics'. We now await the outcome of the General Election itself, to find out which one of the candidates has been successful and will sit as our MP in the House of Commons.
